Behind the Beauty: Our Styled Shoot at Walnut and Main Event Space

There are shoot days, and then there are shoot days - the ones where every element clicks into place, the light cooperates, and the entire team moves like they've worked together for years. Last week, Wonder Event Co had one of those days, and we're still floating on cloud nine.

We had the honor of planning and styling a shoot at Walnut and Main Event Space, the newest wedding and event venue in Van Wert, Ohio. From the moment we walked in to plan out the space and location of each theme, it was clear this space was going to be a dream to style - clean architectural lines, gorgeous natural light, and just enough blank canvas to let every vendor's work to truly shine.

The Planning and Prep

The vision came together through weeks of vendor outreach and selection by our own Wonder Event Co team, gathering a group of local and surrounding-city talent we knew would work beautifully together.

The design meant conceptualizing and styling four distinct themes in a single day, each with its own palette, table scape, and floral direction. Giving us, plenty of content, creative freedom and variety to work with!

The execution was a true team effort, with day-of movement and logistics managed by Wonder Event Co team, and Amy Covey, owner of Walnut and Main Event Space, keeping the entire day running seamlessly from start to finish.

A Dream Team, Start to Finish

A styled shoot lives or dies by its vendor team, and honestly? This one couldn't have gone smoother. Every single person showed up prepared, professional, and excited to collaborate - which is rarer than you'd think, and something we never take for granted!

The visuals were captured by the incredibly talented @taylorfordphoto behind the camera and @dfosterfilms behind the lens for video, with @eventswithluz rounding out our content creation team to make sure every detail, down to the last floral stem, was documented for social media and beyond.

The design foundation came together through a florals collaboration between our own Wonder Event Co team and the always-stunning @ivyhutchflowers, paired with elegant stationery suite work from @shaytionerydesigns.

The look was brought to life with multiple bridal gowns from @jcobridal, sharp suits courtesy of @themr.shoppe, and hair and makeup artistry from @redstilettoartistry that had our models glowing from every angle.

The atmosphere was set with beautiful furniture from @roespecialtyrentals and specialty linens and tables from @muttonrentals - the kind of layered, textural styling that makes a space feel warm, welcoming and finished rather than just decorated.

The sweet finish came from a simply elegant and show stopping cake by @beetree.bakery, because no styled shoot is complete without something worth drooling over. (Plus, I mayyyyy have had a very large slice after the end of the shoot and can personally say, it was wonderful!)

And of course, none of it would have come to life without our gorgeous models, @alana.kaitlynnn, @sidney.ryan3, and, our newly married, Mr and Mrs. Peters, who brought so much warmth and chemistry to every frame.

Why Styled Shoots Matter

For those newer to the industry: a styled shoot isn't tied to a real couple's wedding day - it's a chance for vendors to collaborate purely on creative vision, without the pressures (and beautiful chaos) of an actual live event. It's where we get to experiment, push design concepts further than we might on a typical wedding day, and build a portfolio of work that shows real couples exactly what's possible when they book this team.

It's also, frankly, one of the best ways to build genuine relationships with other local vendors. You learn who communicates well under pressure, who shows up early, who problem-solves without missing a beat. After a day like this, we walked away with more than gorgeous photos - we walked away with a vendor team we'd recommend to any couple planning their big day!

A New Favorite Venue

We also have to give a special shoutout to Walnut and Main Event Space for opening their doors to us. As the newest venue on the scene in Van Wert, Ohio, they've clearly thought through every detail - from flow and layout to the kind of lighting that makes photographers weak in the knees. We have a feeling this space is going to become a local favorite fast, and we're so glad we got to be one of the first to style within it.

The Content? Unreal.
